Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Senior Wintel Administrator to manage and support enterprise Windows Server and VMware infrastructure operations in production-critical OT environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization platforms, incident management, infrastructure operations, and enterprise-level troubleshooting. This role requires operational ownership, infrastructure stability management, and coordination across multiple technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Windows & VMware Infrastructure Operations

• Provide L3 support for Windows Server infrastructure and VMware virtualization environments
• Manage and support:
  • Windows Server administration
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter environments
  • VM provisioning and decommissioning
  • Snapshots, cloning, and templates
  • Resource allocation and infrastructure optimization
  • System performance monitoring and analysis
• Troubleshoot issues related to:
  • OS performance and patching failures
  • Service failures and server availability
  • Domain connectivity and authentication issues
  • DNS/DHCP dependencies
  • Storage presentation and mount issues
  • VM performance and host-related problems

VMware Administration

• Administer VMware clusters, ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machine operations
• Monitor datastore usage, cluster health, VM capacity, and host utilization
• Coordinate maintenance activities including VM migration, host patching, and resource balancing
• Troubleshoot issues related to snapshots, VM tools, HA/DRS operations, and datastore management

Windows Server Administration

• Manage Windows server operations including health checks, patch coordination, security policies, and event log analysis
• Support Active Directory-integrated server environments and GPO-related troubleshooting
• Coordinate with application teams for patching, reboot planning, and performance remediation

Incident, Change & Operations Management

• Handle escalated incidents related to Wintel and virtualization platforms
• Act as L3 technical lead during major incidents and outages
• Drive root cause analysis and preventive actions for recurring infrastructure issues
• Implement controlled changes involving patching, VM modifications, storage expansion, and maintenance activities
• Coordinate with server, storage, backup, network, cloud, and application teams
• Support capacity planning, operational reporting, and infrastructure trend analysis

Governance & Documentation

• Maintain SOPs, build documents, recovery procedures, and technical knowledge articles
• Ensure compliance with patching, backup, security, and operational standards
• Support audits and evidence collection related to server and infrastructure management

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise Wintel and virtualization administration
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • Windows Server Administration
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter
• Strong troubleshooting skills in enterprise Wintel environments
• Good understanding of:
  • Active Directory-integrated environments
  • DNS, DHCP, clustering, storage, and backup technologies
  • Virtualization and infrastructure concepts
• Experience with patching, server hardening, and infrastructure maintenance
• Strong incident management and escalation handling capabilities
• Excellent coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure operational environments

🔴 Note: For this position, Finnish and English communication proficiency mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise backup technologies
• Exposure to Azure or hybrid server environments
• PowerShell scripting knowledge
• ITIL process understanding
• Experience with infrastructure capacity and utilization reporting
• Familiarity with OT or industrial infrastructure environments
